# ICO?

### Definition <a href="#definition" id="definition"></a>

An ICO (Initial Coin Offering) is a fundraising method using blockchain technology to finance the development of web3 projects.

Subscribers acquire digital tokens in exchange for fiat currencies (euros, dollars, etc.) or cryptocurrencies. These tokens often represent a future right of use for the service offered by the issuer, but do not constitute shares in the company like traditional stocks. ICOs differ from Initial Public Offerings (IPOs) in their less regulated nature and decentralized process.

### ICO Process <a href="#ico-process" id="ico-process"></a>

* [x] Drafting and publication of a whitepaper detailing the project.
* [x] Announcement of the ICO launch date.
* [x] Implementation of a "Smart Contract" for the automatic execution of token sales.
* [x] Sale of tokens to subscribers, often preceded by a private sale for early adopters.
